Troubleshooting Installation Issues with McAfee

Problem:

Some users may encounter an issue when trying to install the EnVision v2 software while having McAfee security software installed. McAfee might prevent the installation process.

Solution:

Here are a few steps you can take to allow the EnVision v2 installation while McAfee is running:

1. Temporarily Disable Real-Time Scanning (For Installation Only)

  • Open McAfee from the taskbar or start menu.
  • Click PC Security > Real-Time Scanning.
  • Click Turn Off.
  • Choose a time limit (e.g., 15 minutes).
  • Try installing the EnVision v2 app.
  • Re-enable Real-Time Scanning after installation.

2. Add the App or Installer to the Exclusion List

If you want McAfee to permanently allow the EnVision v2 app:

  • Open McAfee.
  • Go to Settings (gear icon in the top right).
  • Click Real-Time Scanning.
  • Under Excluded Files, click Add File or Add Folder.
  • Browse to the app installer (.exe or .msi) or installed folder and add it.
  • Repeat under Scheduled Scans > Excluded Files.

3. Check the Quarantine (If McAfee Already Blocked or Deleted It)

  • Open McAfee.
  • Go to PC Security > Quarantined Items.
  • Find the EnVision v2 app and choose Restore or Trust.

Outcome:

In this case, the user successfully installed the EnVision v.2 software by temporarily turning off McAfee.

Note: Always ensure you re-enable your security software after installation to protect your system.
